A Welcome from Pastor Brian Goodell

My wife, Cynthia and I have been married for 31 years now. Over the course of the past 25 years, our family has grown with the wonderful addition of our five children. During that time the Lord graced us with a profound value…real life happens around the table. Most nights of the week, my family gathers around an old, worn out, but beautiful table in our dining room to share our lives together, and of course a good meal! The most meaningful moments in our family have occurred at that old table. From full blown belly laughs to tears, hugs, communion, forgiveness, mentoring, and more. Our table has been our anchor, our safe place to become the people God made us to be.

This value is at the heart of all we do at The Bridge. In our weekly gatherings, this philosophy that life happens at the table is seen and savored. I see this relational quality in so much of who Jesus was (and is!) and how He connected with and loved the people around Him. Over a meal, in their homes, or at a beach, Jesus met with people in an intimate, personal, and transformative way. A way in which their voice mattered too. No question was off limits with Him. This truth still applies, he loves talking with us.

The Bridge is a place where everyone has a seat at the table. It’s far more than furniture…it’s a reminder of the importance of time spent with someone, face to face, where genuine life is shared and where everyone has a voice. We believe this is what the church is all about: real people doing life together. It isn't always perfect, but it is always worth it, and we will do it for as long as we have breath.

Welcome home, your seat is saved!
